Raytown EMS (Emergency Medical Services) hosted CPR training this week for Police Department employees. About 92 percent of sudden cardiac arrest victims die before reaching the hospital, but statistics prove that if more people knew CPR, more lives could be saved. Immediate CPR can double, or even triple, a victim’s chance of survival. Although we hope to never have to put those skills to use, we will be better prepared to help someone in a life-threatening, medical emergency.
